Self Defence and Physical Intervention

Our Self Defence Systems were developed by experts in Traditional Martial Arts who wanted to offer people a method of self defence that was both effective and practical without the traditional elements which prevent some people from attending classes. The culmination of years of development and testing, this is a combination of Karate, Ju Jutsu, King Fu and several other elements, combined to suit a modern environment. We emphasise the importance of developing a winning mindset as well as learning techniques which will work when you need them to.

Suitable for all ages and abilities, we offer regular classes as well as bespoke workshops for people with a specific needs, such as travelers or lone workers.

Why Self-Defence?

The Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) estimated that 1.6% of adults aged 16 years and over were a victim of violent crime in the year ending March 2020, equating to 1.2 million incidents of violence.

In the year ending March 2020, 1 in 10 women aged 16 to 25 had reported being the victim of a sexual assault.

Everybody always thinks “it wont happen to me”,and I can guarantee you every one of the 1.2 million people who were a victim of vioent crim in the year ending march 2020. Thought the same thing.

Now, we are not saying “live in fear”, we are saying be prepared for the worst in the hope that it never happeens.

Confidence

And on the 7th day God rested, for there were too many self defense providers…

Knowing where to get quality instruction is hard, especially with so many people offering “secret techniques” and “Master Classes”. It can be hard to know that what you are getting works.

It is my belief that no system truly holds all the answers, not even this one, but what makes the difference in a self-defence situation is ATTITUDE. A winning attitude coupled with techniques that are easily recalled will make the biggest difference in how likely you are to defend that attack.

Training with us will boost your confidence and give you the tools to get away from a potentially dangerous situation.

Self-Defense vs Traditional Martial Arts

As a traditional Martial artists, I am an advocate for anything that builds strength of mind, body and character. Any traditional Martial Arts, providing you have a good instructor, can provide you all the benefits you need to improve your chances of defending an attack.

There are some downside to Traditional Martial Arts:

  1. Some vital techniques aren’t taught by traditional classes
  2. The traditions that make up the style can be awkward for some, such a bowing, forms or etiquette
  3. Traditional uniforms can be restrictive
  4. Traditional teaching methods can sometimes hinder good recall of techniques

If you are a. Member of a traditional martial arts style, Good! Keep it up and enjoy it. However, don’t be afraid to branch out and investigate other things that can ADD to what you are already doing.
